Dr. Joseph A. Shehadi, MD

Dr. Joseph A. Shehadi, MD is a board-certified neurosurgeon with deep roots in Western New York. Originally from Cheektowaga, he completed his undergraduate studies in Neuroscience at the University of Rochester, where he also played two seasons of Division III football for the Yellowjackets.

He earned his medical degree with honors and Distinction in Research from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Dr. Shehadi's advanced neurosurgical training included residencies and fellowships at several prestigious institutions, including Strong Memorial Hospital, Washington University, McGill University, the University of Toronto, and a specialized fellowship in Neurosurgical Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Following his training, Dr. Shehadi moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he has spent the past two decades in private practice—most of that time at a Level I trauma center—specializing in complex neurosurgical trauma care.

Dr. Shehadi is known not only for his clinical excellence but also for his compassionate, patient-centered approach. He treats every patient with the same respect and care he would offer his own family, a value reflected in the many heartfelt reviews from those he's helped.

Now, Dr. Shehadi has returned to his hometown of Buffalo to establish Northtowns Neurosurgery, PLLC, a private neurosurgical practice dedicated to bringing world-class care to the Western New York community. Backed by decades of experience and elite training, the practice is built on a foundation of cutting-edge technology, evidence-based treatment, and the personal, compassionate approach Dr. Shehadi is known for.
